Julie Myrick and Tim Arrants recently married and have come together to form the Myrick Law Firm. The husband and wife team provide you with aggressive and reliable legal representation based on their combined (nearly 40 years) of legal practice, experience, skill, training and knowledge. Both are regular contributors to “Legal Lines” where they serve as radio hosts committed to educating the general public as to a wide variety of legal topics. They love spending time with their family and furry four-legged friends here in beautiful East Tennessee. They look forward to meeting with you to discuss and resolve any legal challenges you may have. In times of conflict, you need compassionate, skilled, and experienced legal representation to fight for you and to help you navigate the legal system.  Most clients are unfamiliar with this process. They want to help you succeed.

Both Tim and Julie are members of the National College for DUI Defense. Members of the NCDD are the most experienced and knowledgeable DUI defense attorneys in the United States.

Meet Our Attorneys and Staff

Julie Myrick, J.D

Julie is an experienced Criminal Defense and Litigation Attorney serving Sevier, Cocke, and Jefferson Counties. She is a Rule 31 listed Family and Civil Mediator with additional training in Elder Law Mediation. Julie serves the public with being a regular contributor on Legal Lines on MIXX 105.5 hosting a legal radio show from 10am to noon on Saturdays where the general public can call in with inquiries on various legal topics in question and answer format and various legal topics are discussed. She also volunteers regularly to assist with the Order of Protection Dockets in further service to her legal community. Julie is a member of her local Sevier and Cocke County Bar Associations, as well as the Tennessee Bar Association and the National College of DUI Defense (NCDD). Julie is a Sevier County native with deep roots in East Tennessee. She graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 1994 and from Ohio Northern University Claude W. Pettit College of Law in Spring of 1998.

She was licensed to practice in Fall of 1998 and went to work for Clyde “Scutter” Dunn in Newport, Tennessee, before opening her own law practice in January of 2001, where she has been a solo attorney ever since.

In her early practice, Julie focused the majority of her time on Family Law and Domestic Issues including Divorce, Custody, Child Support and Adoptions, and served as Guardian ad Litem and parent’s attorney in Dependency and Neglect cases and also gained experiences in a wide variety of practice areas as a General Practitioner. She has experience in Bankruptcy and Social Security Disability Law and General Civil Litigation.  She has experience in drafting Wills and Trusts and Business Contracts.

Over time, and as the law changed, she enjoyed adding Mediation to her practice areas and Julie highly values the mediation process as a form of dispute resolution. She is a problem solver and believes that mediation offers a better and more cost efficient alternative to protracted, contested litigation both financially and emotionally for the litigants.

As her practice evolved, she found a true knack and passion for Criminal Defense. She is an aggressive, passionate attorney who strives to meet her client’s needs during the most difficult times in their lives, guiding her clients through the legal system with compassion and confidence.

Julie regularly attends Continuing Legal Education classes to stay current on legal matters as well as to expand her areas of practice.  Julie studied Spanish in college and trained further in Costa Rica at Forrester Institute International. She is conversational in Spanish.

M. Timothy Arrants, J.D

Tim is a Criminal Defense Attorney serving Sevier, Jefferson, Cocke, Grainger and Knox Counties. His past experience includes solo practice, as well as public service as an employee of the State of Tennessee assuming roles of Assistant Public Defender, Assistant District Attorney General, and Child Support Prosecutor, at different times in his career.  He has been licensed to practice law in Tennessee since 2001, and is a Member of local Bar Associations and a Member of the Tennessee Bar Association.

An Army brat, Tim graduated from High School in Heidelburg, Germany and speaks a good bit of German. He served in the Army National Guard for 9 years. He graduated with a BA in Political Science from Clemson University in 1994 and with a JD from Regent University in 1999.

Tim is a keen negotiator and fierce advocate for his clients. Tim enjoys helping the public though his radio appearances and volunteer activities.

Tim has had experience in a wide range of legal practice areas and has tried a large number of jury trials over the course of his career. His vast trial experience has prepared him to swiftly analyze cases, give the best advice, and determine the best legal strategies for winning.

Vicki Lewis, Paralegal

Vicki has years of experience in law offices.  She amazes us daily with her knowledge, professionalism, and heart.  She has a love for law and her fellow man.
